The Party

I used to throw big parties all the time B.K. (Before Kalea). I've sorta slowed down a bit since her arrival, so I decided to change all of that. This past weekend, we invited 20 people over for a dessert and coffee nite. Not everyone could make it...but we had a great turn out anyway! So I'm pretty sure I'm a mennonite....because only a mennonite would take a picture of her food...at every single party! The photo is a little out of focus...but it is my chocolate framboise that I wanted to 'show off'. It's a recipe that I got off the food network from French Food at Home...I love that show! Anyway, I started making this crazy thing around 2 the day my guests were arriving only to discover that it was supposed to chill over nite...oops! I always forget to read the entire recipe before I start making it. It was a little jiggly, but still held it's shape most of the nite!

The other photo is of Kalea (born Dec. 7), Ella (born Dec. 24), and Magda (born Feb. 14). It was pretty funny to watch them play together. However, I think Kalea is the bully of the bunch...she kept grabbing the soothers out of the other girls mouths and any time one would start playing with a toy Kalea would grab it. When I looked over at her she had 3 soothers and a mountain of toys around her. The other girls were just staring at her. Maybe because the party was at Kalea's house they were being polite and not making a fuss over their 'bully host'. All I could think was " oh great...my kid is 'THAT' kid". The parenting soon begins I suppose!

Random Kalea Moments

So, Jinny said "shame on me" for not posting anything recent, and Mom sent me a sad little email asking for more of Kalea. So here she is, a few photos and some recent videos.

I love this photo, Great Grandma Epp bought this stuffy, it's name is cheeky monkey!
I have taken 50 zillion photos of this child so far, and I'm pretty sure this is my favourite one. I put a clip in her hair for the first time. It is her expression that I think is so funny...I love it!

I think it's pretty funny to watch her attention go from one thing to the next so quickly...I like my animals... oh, there's my mom....hey carpet....I'm wearing socks....hi mom....

Kalea's First Camping Trip

Kalea experienced her first camping trip this week. Actually, she experienced a lot of "firsts" this week...mosquito bite, sunburn, swim in the lake, boat ride and fireworks on Canada day! She really enjoyed her "silly seahorse" (the company named it...not me!) Auntie Jamie and K relaxed at the camp site after a swim.
The tummy tub really came in handy!
Grandy and Papa were so excited to teach K how to camp!
Uncle Dusty and K watched the fire.
So I have to tell you, I used an obscene amount of restraint...I could have put a million photos on here. We had a great time at the lake, eating marshmallows and suntanning! We played baseball, went boating (cam water skied) and watched the fireworks on Canada day with the Schierlings. We sat by the fire and walked by the cabins. We visited with family and with old friends. It was a wonderful week of relaxation! You should come next year!
