Our dear friends Dale and Helen went on a vacation and brought our girls these adorable t shirts. They LOVE opening them up and making "fish" noises...you know a loud roar...the noise all fish make when they are showing you their teeth!

Back in the saddle again...

So after years of neglect, I have resolved to dust off the computer and try my hand again at the whole 'blogging' business. New years resolution #1: try to keep a blog...and make it somewhat interesting! I struggle with the idea of a blog..half of me thinks it's a bit creepy...telling everyone your news and sharing photos of your life...the other half thinks it's a great way to share your story with friends and family. So that's what I will try to do...capture the story of myself and my little family. New years resolution #2: add some zest to my life....let's see just how fantastic I can make "stay at home momming"! Yes, I know this is not a real word...but it's my blog...so leave me alone! Here is an updated photo to bridge the gap between the last post, which was in 2009 or something like that!

The Wiggles
Kalea really enjoys her Wiggles movie....I HATE it. I wake up in the middle of the night with the wiggles harmonies floating through my head...it's crazy! There is one song about Duckies and they do this chicken wing sort of dance. The other day the movie was on and K started dancing around the living room, copying the dancers on the TV. Today during that same song, she yelled out an "Ai Yi Yi Yi" sort of sound, just like the singers. I would not have believed it, but Cameron heard it too...it was HI Larious! Now we just have to say the word Duck in Spanish (the song is in Spanish) and Kalea puts her arms up and starts flapping them!

K is 15 months old!
We went out for Tony's 40th birthday tonight at the Keg, so K thought she would get dressed up in her new party shoes. When we got home, she did some tap dancing in the kitchen! I've tried 3 times to upload that video, but it won't work...maybe tomorrow I can try again...sorry!
She got two new molars last week. One night she woke up around midnight and stayed up until 3 am. She wiggled off my lap and made it down the stairs. She really wanted to play with her toys. I took a video of her doing some dancing and playing. The video is a little dark because I didn't want to turn all the lights on...also, it is a little long...I was not thinking straight so I just kept recording!
K has learned some new and useful words...like "no" and "up" and "more". She pouts her lips together in a 'kissy face' to represent please, and thank you is usually one nod, although she is saying the words more and more. She loves to say "there you go" when she hands you something or when she wants something to be handed to her. Whenever she hears the dog across the street bark she goes crazy and runs to the window and barks like a puppy. Often in the morning we hear her barking in her crib...she continues to do this until we go and get her. I think she thinks she is a puppy....hmmm. K tried crepes the other day for the first time and LOVED them! Ahhh....she is a frenchie after all! She is a great eater. She will eat anything, except potatoes. She really likes peas and green beans, but her favourite food item, is pancakes. Speaking of food, I decided I was going to do a diet. I have never done one before, so I was curious to see if I had the ability and determination to stick to one. Do you think I could stick with it? Ya right...I'm a French Mennonite....food is sooooo important to me. I was reading a new Rachael Ray cook book while eating only fruit and cabbage soup for a day. Today was day two...only veggies and cabbage soup. Tonight at the keg I gave in and had braised short ribs in a mushrooms sauce with mashed garlic potatoes. I was about to order a HUGE chocolate dessert, when Kalea saved me from myself and began to cry. We packed up and headed home! What was I thinking? I am NEVER going on a diet again...all I really wanted to loose was three pounds....it was not worth it! I would rather gain three than eat fruit, veggies and cabbage soup all day! Nothing is wrong with fruit, veggies and soup...but you have to add other things in too...something to sauce things up a little, you know?! Well, that is it for my random talk for tonight,
Good night, all!
Love,
t

So I have a red head...who knew??
Jinny always reminds me that i neglect this poor little blog. and yes, i do. but as i type this, i am swaggering back and forth, forcing my eyes open. super tired comes to mind right now. i won't try to write much, or be very funny, i think both would probably back fire on me right now! Here are a few videos and photos of Kalea...again. Auntie Amber was over and kalea decided to show off her spoon technique. Auntie Amber also came to the rescue, and found Kalea a sled of her very own, in a sled less city. we hunted everywhere and could not find one. then one night, amber came over with this one...the unsung hero! I have also included a family photo taken at Christmas. It is of the four of us...cam, myself, kalea and the cabbage patch doll, which kalea insists on dragging upside down by her feet through the house...poor thing!
Just as a PS, i want to point out that i have no idea how to work a computer or this website. i have tried for the last 5 minutes to move the photos around. they look dumb all clumped together like that, but alas, i don't know what i am doing.....and i am going to bed. good night, friends.
